Yes, both the Cross Glide Mag Mount and Cross Glide Mount Pro are upgradeable. Customers who already own our Quick Mount product only need to purchase the device-side bracket and custom wiring harness for a seamless upgrade. There’s no need to remove the base on the windshield.
- When using Comma devices, users need to frequently disassemble the devices for software updates and upgrades. Quick-release design is more conducive to installation and disassembly.
- Comma devices are installed on the front windshield of the car, which looks more like a high-end dashcam. In some countries and regions where theft occurs, when your car is parked in an unsafe place, you can quickly remove the device and take it away.
- When your vehicle is parked outdoors under the sun, the Comma device often triggers high-temperature alarms and becomes inoperable when starting the vehicle. Using quick-release products can effectively avoid such issues.
After testing and verification, our quick-release products are suitable for Comma3&Comma3X&Comma4 of Comma Company in the United States and Mr-one clone products(C3&C3L&C3XL).
As you can see, the Mag Mount comes with an additional magnetic component compared to the Pro Mount. The main reason is that plastic materials require higher craftsmanship during CNC machining and take longer to process than aluminum alloy. Additionally, we use PEI engineering plastic, which is relatively expensive.
If it feels too tight for your liking, no worries! You can adjust it by removing 1-2 magnets from the mount using a simple Phillips screwdriver.
As shown in the figure, the Cross Glide Mount Pro is thinner than the Cross Glide Mag Mount. Their specific heights are as follows: Mag Mount: 22.7mm; Pro Mount: 11mm.
It is strongly recommended to use double-sided adhesive promoter ( https://a.co/d/8SuAKMm ) to effectively enhance the bonding strength. (Many customers have tested it and the effect is excellent.)
The "Cross Glide Mag Mount" product set comes with an 8-degree base. When installing, the thicker side should face the interior of the vehicle. It is strongly recommended to use double-sided adhesive promoter ( https://a.co/d/8SuAKMm ) to effectively enhance the bonding strength.
You can use dental floss or fishing line to remove the adhesive, and any remaining residue can be wiped away with acetone or rubbing alcohol.
